Qualico Homebuilders Honoured at MHBA's Fall Parade of Homes Awards

Winnipeg, MB – The Manitoba Home Builder’s Association capped off its longest running Fall Parade of Homes with a virtual awards gala held on October 23, where all of Qualico’s homebuilders went home with gold. The awards included 40 separate categories that were reviewed by volunteer judges. Qualico homebuilders took home a total of 11 Gold honours, the most in the past several years of the Fall Parade.

Qualico's 2019 Gift-in-Kind Donation Helps Addiction Recovery Centre Construction Get Underway

Winnipeg, MB – When someone is struggling with the challenges of addiction, having someone there to guide them down the long road of recovery can make all the difference in the world. Canadian sportscaster Scott Oake, CBC Sports and Sportsnet’s Hockey Night in Canada, wanted to contribute to addiction recovery in Manitoba after losing his own son, Bruce Oake, to addiction in 2011. Since then, Scott, his wife and Bruce’s mother Anne, and Bruce’s brother Darcy have been working tirelessly to make the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre, a long-term treatment facility located in Winnipeg, a reality.

Qualico Donation Helps Keep Main Street Project Warming Centre Open

Winnipeg, MB – A recent donation from Qualico is helping Main Street Project (MSP) in Winnipeg provide a comfortable drop-in warming centre for those who are experiencing homelessness. Qualico provided $10,000 to help keep the warming centre open for eight hours overnight over a 50-day period this winter. MSP is hoping Qualico’s donation will encourage others to donate so the centre can be open 24 hours a day during cold weather.

Qualico Scores Top Shelf with its Sixth Annual Charity Ball Hockey Tournament

Winnipeg, MB – For the sixth year in a row, Qualico ran its annual charity parking lot ball hockey tournament, with a record-high $10,800 being raised for CancerCare Manitoba and KidSport Winnipeg. The fun and lively tournament took place in October and November over a series of four weeks in frosty Winnipeg. A total of 75 Qualico employees from different business units made up eight die-hard teams, each playing a series of round robin games over workday lunch hours.
