Harrison Hot Springs, BC – On February 25-26, 19 members of Qualico’s Sustainability Working Group Committee attended the Canadian Home Builders’ Association’s (CHBA) Net-Zero Home Leadership Summit. Qualico was part of a group of 210 attendees from key stakeholders that have impact and influence in the residential construction industry such as utilities, renewable energy solution providers, infrastructure design and development, financing, education and capacity building, and research and technologies.

Langley, BC — Located in Langley’s Willoughby Heights neighbourhood, Westbrooke is a Qualico Community that features one of the largest underground stormwater detention facilities in North America. The sustainable and innovative facility is the first-of-its-kind in the Township of Langley, servicing a 127-acre catchment area. The facility was a requirement for development approval for Westbrooke I, as the Township of Langley establishes development prerequisites in its neighbourhood plans that must be secured before any development application will go through. One of those prerequisites was to secure the land and construct the stormwater management facility that would service the whole catchment area.

Surrey, BC – Surrey is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada, with a population that is increasing even faster than Vancouver's. With a steady stream of new residents, the city’s healthcare services are needed more than ever. The Surrey Memorial Hospital has been expanding to meet the needs of this growing population, with the help of donors like Qualico. The long-term partnership between Qualico and the hospital has resulted in donations totaling $731,800 since 2007.

Langley, BC – The city of Langley is a growing community with shifting demographics. Young families are increasingly moving to the area, and long-term residents of the community are aging – changes that have meant additional pressure for the Langley Memorial Hospital’s emergency department. The hospital’s emergency department was originally built to accommodate around 25,000 visits per year.

Surrey, BC – On Saturday, March 9, Foxridge Homes Vancouver was recognized for its excellence in homebuilding at the Canadian Home Builders’ Association of BC’s 27th annual Georgie Awards gala, taking home the 2019 Georgie Award for “Single Family Production Home Builder of the Year.” The event was held at the downtown Vancouver Hyatt Regency in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 650 industry professionals.

Surrey, BC – For the second year in a row, Qualico was the reception sponsor for the Surrey Hospital Foundation’s Celebration of Care Gala. The James Bond-themed event was held at the Aria Banquet Hall on Saturday, February 23, and raised over $4.8 million.
