Foxridge Homes Winnipeg Receives COR® Safety Certification

Winnipeg, MB – Award-winning custom homebuilder Foxridge Homes Winnipeg is the latest Qualico Company to earn COR® certification, Canada’s leading construction safety and workplace health accreditation. The achievement reflects both Qualico and Foxridge Homes’ leadership in promoting a safe work environment for employees and trades partners.

Previously operating under the Kensington Homes banner, Foxridge Homes Winnipeg recently branched off its production team, earning its own distinct COR certification program.  Tony Balaz, Vice-President, Foxridge Homes and Kensington Homes, shared that pursuing COR was important to establishing the business unit’s own operations apart from Kensington Homes.

With Foxridge having been a part of Kensington’s single-family operations for many years in Winnipeg and included within our existing COR safety program, its move to operate independently provided the need for its own COR certification. Accredited by the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations, COR is the most rigorous construction safety and health accreditation program of its kind in Canada. Its objective is to foster safer construction practices with the aim of preventing the human and financial toll of workplace incidents and injuries.

The COR certification reinforces a proven safety framework already embedded in the company’s culture, said Barry Hedgecock, Production Manager, Foxridge Homes Winnipeg.

“The biggest thing for us is to make sure everyone goes home safe at night. Our goal is to use every means available to make sure that our sites are safe, and COR provides a big advantage in that regard,” says Hedgecock. He adds that Qualico’s vast experience implementing COR practices among its network of companies was instrumental in supporting Foxridge Homes Winnipeg throughout the process.

The process to receive COR certification took just over one year to complete, he added.
