Qualico Calgary Clothing Drive Helps to Empower Women and Girls

Calgary, AB - To mark International Women’s Day, Qualico Calgary held a clothing drive in support of the Making Changes Association, a non-profit organization that empowers women in transition by helping them build confidence and skills so they can participate as fully as possible in their communities.

In total, the team collected over 2,000 articles of clothing. Qualico Calgary also made a donation of $5,000 to Making Changes Association.

In 2021, Making Changes Association gave away 22,000 articles of clothing. Qualico’s donation will go a long way in helping the Making Changes Association stock the shelves at both Dress for Success and My Best Friends Closet.

My Best Friend’s Closet provides girls aged 12 to 18 from low-income homes with appointments to select a year’s worth of fashionable and functional clothing to meet their back to school and recreational needs at no cost. Each participant is paired with a peer volunteer stylist who assists them in choosing their clothes and accessories in a fun, retail-style space.
