Qualico Breaks Ground on New Calgary Community, Ambleton

Calgary, AB – Qualico Communities Calgary ceremonially broke ground in Ambleton, a community 15 years in the making, on September 29, 2020 in Northwest Calgary.

The new community of Ambleton, located just north of Evanston, is comprised of 64.7 hectares (160 acres) and will be developed through eight phases, totaling over 1,200 homes when complete.

Ambleton will be a distinctive and integrated community that will provide a wide range of housing, activity and recreational choices. A large draw will be the natural environmental reserve, off-street pathways and a large stormwater pond.

Showhomes will open in the summer of 2021 and will feature Qualico homebuilders Sterling Homes and Broadview Homes Calgary, as well as Joint Venture Partners, Shane Homes, Jayman Homes, Trico Homes, and Truman Homes.

“Demand for Calgary's northwest has been constant in all economic conditions in the past,” said Nina Wulder, Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Qualico Communities. “We believe there is a pent up demand and loyalty for residents of the northwest.  Because of the success of Evanston, we think that will really drive our loyalty and referral programs for this new community.”

Individuals that call Ambleton home will be able to access the amenities of its neighbouring community Evanston, which is thriving with a strong commercial presence, two schools (and another on the way), parks and numerous walking paths. The commercial space already includes a Sobeys grocery store, pub, yoga studio, pet store, and much more, allowing this new community to feel more established from the beginning.

“Ambleton is unique because it has access to existing amenities and established communities, as well as a variety of product types," said Nina. "We believe it will be a draw for new homeowners. The community will include future commercial space and a high school site, which is in high demand for this area. The local and regional pathway networks, pedestrian gathering spaces, and play areas make getting around and exploring this community easy."
