Qualico Communities Edmonton celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Day last week with the grand opening of Maskêkosihk Trail, Edmonton’s first major roadway to be named in honour of the Cree First Nations.

City and community leaders gathered last week to mark the beginning of construction of Station Lands, Edmonton’s first master-planned community in the city’s downtown. The development is expected to attract new businesses and thousands of residents to the downtown core and positively affect Chinatown and the surrounding area.

With a total of seven nominations, Foxridge Homes BC earned awards in three categories: The Westbrooke at Willoughby community in Langley, Edgestone’s Glenmore Showhome in Surrey’s Grandview Heights neighbourhood, and Foxridge Homes BC’s new corporate website.

Qualico Properties’ Edgemont Landing commercial development in the Southwest Edmonton Edgemont neighbourhood is bringing in-demand retailers and service providers to residents living in this rapidly growing area.

Pacesetter Homes, Streetside Developments and Sterling Homes earned a total of 15 Awards of Excellence for sales volume and housing design in a range of categories and price points. Qualico Communities Edmonton also took home an award for its Get Digging direct mail marketing campaign.

The Nordic-inspired urban flats in Edmonton’s West Secord community offer impressive price points and architectural styles that stand out from other homes on offer and feature a unique and cool ‘walk-up flats’ concept. There will be three buildings with 24 units each.

The new integrated business unit is known as Qualico Properties and exists within the Properties vertical of Qualico’s integrated real estate model. It will operate alongside Rancho’s third-party condo management business, which will remain as an independent business unit.

Point at Glenridding Ravine will allow Qualico Communities Edmonton to maintain a strong presence in the fast-growing southwest area as Langdale – one of the business unit’s other southwest communities – nears completion. Qualico Communities Edmonton expects the lots in the fast-selling Point at Glenridding Ravine community to be fully absorbed within the next year.

The Qualico Northern Alberta Region has committed $750,000 to the University Hospital Foundation in support of the University of Alberta Hospital’s Alberta Kidney Care – North program.
