StreetSide Developments BC Wins Multi-Family Homebuilder of the Year at CHBA-BC’s 2024 Georgie Awards

Metro Vancouver, BC – StreetSide Developments BC was presented with two awards at the 32^nd annual Georgie Awards, hosted by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association – BC. The Georgie Awards honour BC’s best homebuilders, renovators, designers and real estate industry professionals.

At this year’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed gala, the StreetSide Developments BC team earned the Best Sales Centre award for their Port & Mill project, as well as the Grand Georgie award for Multi-Family Home Builder of the Year.

The Georgie Awards is Canada’s premier housing awards program attended by over 800 industry professionals, government officials, and industry partners. The black-tie gala features a cocktail reception, seated dinner, awards show, entertainment, and after party. The event gives builders an opportunity to showcase their projects’ quality, durability, and customer satisfaction.

Jonathan Meads, Vice-President, StreetSide Developments BC, said winning the awards is significant for the entire team.

“The importance of this recognition cannot be understated,” he said. “In our competitive market, this is no small feat – our competition was strong. It is all of the StreetSide team that earned this. The ‘Best Sales Centre’ entry was judged based on the overall flow and experience of the Sales Centre, creativity of materials and technology used, rationale behind the location, appeal to the target market and budget.

The ‘Multi-Family Home Builder of the Year’ Grand Georgie Award required builders to enter a minimum number of categories of which 50% of the results would come from the average of their top three entries and the remaining 50% would be judged based on the following:

• Environmental responsibility and support of CHBA BC environmental programs
• Industry involvement of the builder and support of CHBA BC initiatives
• Career development within the organization (Education & Training)
• Charitable and social contributions to the community
• Innovation within the industry
• Mentoring of new professionals in the industry

The submitted project(s) for this year’s awards must have been built, renovated, developed, created, and marketed from January 1, 2022 to October 31, 2023. The finalists and winners were selected by a judging panel of out-of-province industry professionals and the results were verified by an independent accounting firm.

This year’s Georgie Awards received a record number of entries for 52 awards, which were grouped into six focus areas: Residential Construction – New; Residential Construction – Renovation; Interior Design, Merchandising and Landscaping; Sales and Marketing; Special Achievement Awards; and the Grand Georgie Awards.
