Sterling Homes Calgary Celebrates Significant Growth Trajectory Over Two Years

Calgary, AB – Sterling Homes Calgary has seen impressive growth trajectory over the past two years, achieving more than 20% growth in possessions and reducing build construction timelines by 12% over that time. With Alberta’s population being the fastest-growing in Canada, housing needs are continuing to increase and Sterling Homes Calgary is more than ready to meet that demand.

In 2023, Sterling Homes Calgary saw 332 possessions (100 of which happened in Q4 alone), compared to 238 possessions in 2021. In total, the builder processed more than 350 sales in 2023 thanks to the dedication of the sales, administration, and marketing teams. The team also reduced build construction timelines from 250 days to less than 210 days in 2023.

“More efficient and effective building in reducing build timelines creates a better customer experience and satisfaction,” said Curt. “In my opinion, there seems to be a misconception in the industry that building quicker means reduced quality, where the opposite is truer, within reason.”

There have been some challenges over the past couple of years that Sterling Homes Calgary has navigated with expertise and strategy to ensure continued growth. Mike Cole, Operations Manager, Sterling Homes Calgary, said the team had to overcome major supply challenges in 2021, as well as ongoing labour shortages within the city’s strong construction industry in general.

“We have needed to be creative at times with supply challenges and have been aggressive with adding more trades and suppliers to meet our impressive growth trajectory the last few years,” said Mike.

Sterling Homes Calgary is also continuing to expand its strategic land positions in the marketplace. In addition, the team continues to innovate their product offerings, including income suite options, smaller home plans, and more affordable product offerings like duplexes, laned homes, and eventually townhomes.

Looking towards the future, Sterling Homes Calgary is aiming to continue its upward trajectory with exciting goals and a plan to achieve them. As a team, they’ve decided to aim for 400 homes delivered in 2024, which means they will need to hit around 38 home starts per month. They also plan to reduce build times to 185 days on average.

“We set a long-term goal of achieving 3,000 home deliveries by the end of 2029,” said Curt. “The only way to achieve this goal is to set a strong growth plan, so goals and targets each year are based on meeting this long-term objective while balancing with the strength of the Calgary market and our available lot positions heading into the year.”
