Streetside Developments BC Completes Port & Mill Development and Sees Best-Ever Month for Closings
Coquitlam, BC – StreetSide Developments BC is celebrating the completion of its Port & Mill condominium project in West Coquitlam, along with a record month for closings (111 in August 2023) and the business unit’s highest-ever Avid Rating score (84.7) for a project to date, which is above industry standard.
The Avid Awards are presented to homebuilders throughout North America that have the highest New Home Experience survey scores, based on detailed homebuyer feedback and insights on overall satisfaction, willingness to refer, and actual number of recommendations.
StreetSide Developments BC broke ground on the Port & Mill project in September 2020, completed it in July 2023, and the final two move-in-ready homes sold near the end of December 2023. Named for its location tucked between a previously busy industrial port and the country’s largest lumber mill, Port & Mill is a great option for first-time homebuyers, investors, and downsizers.
The record number of 111 closings for this project in August 2023 nearly doubles what the business unit’s average monthly number would be. This impressive achievement is a testament to the success of Port & Mill and the team’s focus on providing what homebuyers are looking for when it comes to multi-family homes.
“We are delighted at the success of Port & Mill, not only in selling out and moving in all the homeowners, but in the quality of the homes delivered,” said Jonathan Meads, Vice-President, StreetSide Developments BC. “Thanks to a team dedicated to quality, this has resulted in exceptional Avid scores, which are so important for our brand and reputation. As we continue to grow in BC, we want to be known for our quality as part of our reputation, as this helps drive repeat business and recommendations from homeowners.”
Port & Mill is comprised of twin six-storey buildings with 175 homes and over 30 unique one- to three-bedroom and den floorplans ranging from 504 to 1,221 sq. ft. All homes have private outdoor balconies or patios ranging from 53 to 694 sq. ft.
The development is minutes from Burquitlam SkyTrain Station and offers quick access to Burnaby, Port Moody, and downtown Vancouver. It’s also a short drive to Mundy Park (Coquitlam’s largest park), and Port Moody’s famous Brewers Row. Just a few blocks down North Road is the City of Lougheed, which is transforming into an urban metropolis.
Residents of Port & Mill have access to parking and storage and there are EV Level 2 charging stalls available for vehicles. The buildings include an energy-efficient VRF heating and cooling system, which minimizes efficiency losses found in conventional HVAC systems and allows for simultaneous zoned heating and cooling, as well as energy savings.
Outdoors, a central courtyard anchors both buildings with a children’s playground, ample greenspace with secluded nooks, a communal barbecue, and a garden lounge with firepit.
Port & Mill residents can also enjoy the spacious 1,500-sq.-ft. amenity building, complete with lounge area and 75” TV, large working kitchen with long harvest table for communal group gatherings, designated gym space with mirrored walls, and plenty of natural light.
With its many amenities and proximity to public transportation routes, parks, and other attractions, Port & Mill is offering additional housing types in the neighbourhood and helping potential homeowners who are priced out of the single-family detached home market or looking to downsize find an amazing place to live.
