StreetSide Developments BC Boasts New Amenity Building and Starts on Phase 3 at the Boroughs

Surrey, BC – This spring, StreetSide Developments BC marked the completion of Phase 1 (Holloway) of The Boroughs development in South Surrey – the business unit’s largest townhome project to date.

Construction on Holloway commenced in October 2020 and the phase is now sold out, with 124 two-bedroom to four-bedroom townhomes ranging from 1,250 to 1,630 sq. ft. being occupied. Purchasers at Holloway have been primarily young couples upsizing from smaller condos, as well as downsizers.

Sales at Phase 2 (Bexley) of The Boroughs are also going strong, with over 60% of the homes now sold. Bexley features 82 homes, including some rooftop homes that will feature fantastic views and 500 sq. ft. of private outdoor living space. StreetSide Developments BC recently opened a new rooftop deck showhome in this phase that has been very well received so far. This phase of the development has targeted first-time homebuyers and downsizers.

Recently, StreetSide Developments BC started the process for building Phase 3 (Chelsea) of The Boroughs, according to Kyle Foot, Development Manager, StreetSide Developments BC.

“We should have our building permit for Lot 1 in the next few weeks,” Kyle said, “and we’re working with construction to submit the plumbing permit so that the civil contractor can get going as soon as possible. The groundbreaking timeline for this phase is currently to be determined.”

This last phase will include 105 townhomes that will be a mix of home types found in the first two phases and will see the same target market. The homes will have features that allow them to hit Step 3 of the BC Energy Step Code and the incoming Zero Carbon Step Code. Chelsea is expected to be completed by March 2026.

Amie Tran, Marketing Manager, StreetSide Developments BC, noted that along with fantastic features offered in the townhomes themselves, each phase of The Boroughs also has its own distinct amenity building. Homeowners at all phases of The Boroughs will have access to all three amenity buildings.

“With the rising price of real estate in Metro Vancouver and homes getting smaller, it is more important than ever for homeowners to have thoughtfully designed, functional amenity spaces for people to connect, gather and celebrate,” she said.

The Playroom at Holloway is a two-level, 5,747-sq.-ft. building that’s perfect for families and hosting children’s parties. It features a fitness room, lounge with kitchen, outdoor deck with communal barbeque, multi‐use sport court, party room, and theatre complete with recliners.

The added communal space makes the townhomes even more attractive for homebuyers, according to Jonathan Meads, Vice-President, StreetSide Developments BC.

“We've looked at the best in the business in the Lower Mainland and we've mapped what they do,” he said. “The Playroom is finished to a very high standard and offers a lot of amenities. This was the first phase of a phased amenity structure that we’ve never done before.”

Once The Playroom had been completed, StreetSide Developments BC hosted an amenity reveal event with food and a variety of activities, attended by over 250 homeowners, purchasers, prospects, and residents from neighbouring developments who shared positive feedback about the amenity.

At Bexley, The Lounge provides 2,830 sq. ft. of amenity space in two levels, plus 1,081 sq. ft. of rooftop deck. Geared more towards adults and large dinner parties, the building includes a lounge with adjoining kitchen and wrap‐around patio, harvest table, billiards and poker tables, a big-screen TV, a barbeque, a firepit, and sun loungers.

Chelsea’s amenity building will be called The Rec Room and will feature 3,059 sq. ft. of space, plus a 914-sq.-ft. rooftop deck. Games will be the focus here, with board games and puzzles on the first floor; Skeeball, ping-pong, and foosball on the second level; and cornhole, tetherball, laser ball and more on the rooftop. There will also be a 5,833-sq.-ft. outdoor amenity with a large outdoor play area next to The Rec Room.

With so much to offer homebuyers, The Boroughs and its outstanding amenities are helping to continue growing brand awareness and are a great example of how understanding customers can result in industry-leading products and features.
