Qualico Southern Alberta Moves into New Regional Office Building

Calgary, AB – Qualico employees in the Southern Alberta Region are enjoying their new workspace after multiple business units officially moved into the new regional office building in late June and early July. The successful move-in timeframe was the result of effective and ongoing collaboration between Qualico Properties (lead coordinator for the new office) and regional business units occupying the new space. The 2-stage move was done on time with very little disruption to business operations.

The three-storey, 98,225 sq. ft. building is located in southeast Calgary’s Quarry Park community. Qualico extensively renovated the space to meet all the business units’ existing and future needs. The second floor is home to Sterling Homes, NuVista Homes, Broadview Homes, Rancho Management Services, and Qualico Safety while the third floor includes Qualico Communities, Qualico Properties, StreetSide Developments, and the Southern Alberta regional support services.

The building is a new asset in Qualico Properties’ portfolio that will offer leasing potential, as the majority of the main floor will be leased to external tenants. The building also has a LEED Certified core shell, underground parking and is located in a highly desirable employment area in southeast Calgary, which offers many desirable amenities nearby, including restaurants, a grocery store, a YMCA, a childcare centre, bike paths with access to the Bow River, several walking routes, and the future light-rail transit right next door.

Previously, the Calgary business units were spread amongst four buildings within Builders Park. This new space accommodates all of these operations under one roof, opening more doors for collaboration and best practices across Qualico’s integrated real estate model, according to Claudio Palumbo, Regional Vice-President, Southern Alberta.

“The investment in the new building shows Qualico’s commitment to the long-term growth in the Southern Alberta Region. Having our vertical businesses under one roof will facilitate best practices among those businesses,” he said. “Having everyone together only promotes a higher degree of collaboration which is where the space provides its real value.”

The building also provides ample room for future business growth over the next 10 to 20 years.
