Qualico Launches Marquis: A Scenic New Community in Northeast Edmonton
Edmonton, AB – Qualico Communities Edmonton is excited to launch Marquis, a new community in the beautiful Horse Hill area in Northeast Edmonton.
With a variety of new home models to choose from, Marquis appeals to families and individuals looking to take in the quiet natural charm of the North Saskatchewan River while remaining connected to everything the city has to offer.
Brad Armstrong, Vice President of Qualico Communities Edmonton, says the new development and its location near Anthony Henday Drive offer many unique advantages for homebuyers while addressing the need for growing housing demand in Alberta’s capital city.
“It’s a very scenic area with a distinct feel. There’s an established community and two beautiful golf courses nearby, many acreage owners and farmers' markets in the area, and an existing school and recreation center not too far away. There are some exciting amenities coming to Marquis,” Brad says
The location offers convenient access to major arterial routes, light rail transit, and a diverse mix of shopping and entertainment to the south of Marquis. Future commercial spaces in the community will include a town center which will add energy and activity for residents within walking distance.
Building in a new area of the city required significant upfront capital investments by Qualico Communities. Striking the right balance between social, environmental, and economic aspects was critical to ensuring the development is sustainable and one that Edmontonian will be proud of, Brad said.
“We've worked hard to maintain affordability while providing ample park space, accessibility to natural areas, and keeping the area sustainable for wildlife. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved here and think residents will be as well.”
As the groundwork for the infrastructure and landscaping nears completion, Quick Possession homes are now ready for purchase, with new Showhomes opening this Spring.
Homebuyers can choose between six different builders to accommodate various budgets and living situations, with Single Family Front-Attached Garage, Single Family Rear Lane, and Townhomes available for every kind of lifestyle. The Marquis builder group will consist of
“With such a wide range of choices, Marquis will appeal to homebuyers of all kinds. From first-time homeowners looking for a smaller Townhome or Rear Lane options to those looking to upgrade to a larger home on greenspace-backing lots,” said Emily Stamper, Marketing Coordinator, Qualico Communities Edmonton. “It’s also perfect if you want to live in the north part of Edmonton and be closer to the river and all of the wonderful natural features in the area.”
The first phase includes 178 available lots surrounded by tree stands, park space, and diverse recreational opportunities, including multi-use trails nearby.
The community’s first park will be completed later this year. Emily said the new park will showcase a children’s playground with a piece of play equipment that is unlike anything else in Edmonton.
“The playground is designed for accessibility and multisensory play, featuring an interactive play structure with 360-degree touch screens that produce arcade-like visual effects, a merry-go-round that generates lights and sound, and some fascinating climbing structures,” she said.
Qualico looks forward to seeing Marquis blossom into a dynamic community with new residential, commercial and community spaces adding to the development in the next few years.
“We are very excited to be launching a new community in Northeast Edmonton after the success of Cy Becker that is now selling in its final phases. Marquis adds new options and modern amenities to the Northeast that all residents can enjoy and benefit from,” Emily said.
