Qualico US Multi-Family Joint-Venture Projects See Grand Openings, New Stages, and Upcoming Starts
Shoreline Gateway, the 35-storey luxury apartment building in Long Beach, California developed via joint-venture partners and Qualico, officially opened earlier this year. The partners held a grand opening ceremony on Shoreline Gateway’s rooftop to celebrate the completion of what is now the tallest building in Long Beach. Along with luxury apartments, Shoreline Gateway features a variety of amenities, community spaces, and approximately 6,500 sq. ft. of commercial space. The building is currently 81.3% leased.
In Texas, another of Qualico’s joint-venture projects is nearing completion. Starlight, a five-storey mixed-use building located in East Austin, is expected to be completed in January 2023 and pre-leasing has begun. Once completed, the building will include 325 apartment units, underground parking, and ground-level retail and restaurant space.
Two other new merchant-building joint-venture projects Qualico is working on in California are Canyon Bluffs in Riverside, an 88-unit development that will include three-storey garden-style buildings with detached garages and carports. Construction on Canyon Bluffs is expected to start in January 2023. The second project is Sunny Creek in Carlsbad, which will include 212 apartment units. Construction is expected to start in August 2023.
The now-completed second phase of the Hercules Bayfront joint-venture development between Qualico and partners, called The Grand, is currently 63.8% leased, and the start of the next phase of the development will be dependent on market conditions. The upcoming 267-unit project will be called The Mint.
