StreetSide Edmonton Takes Home Fifth Consecutive Customer Experience Award

Edmonton, AB – StreetSide Developments Edmonton continued building on its legacy of excellence last week when it was awarded its fifth consecutive customer experience trophy at the 11th Annual H.O.M.E. Awards.

Winning in the category of Best Customer Experience, Edmonton and Area, Multi-family builder of 116+ homes, the award is granted to those builders with the highest overall customer satisfaction in their area as voted by homebuyers.

“Consistently achieving this sort of recognition can only happen one way: by having a dedicated and talented team doing the basics exceptionally well each day and keeping an eye out for opportunities to go above and beyond,” said Nicolas Carels, VP, StreetSide Developments, Edmonton. “These awards are entirely a reflection of the great work each member of our team does every single day.”

Despite homebuilders across North America dealing with supply chain issues and labour shortages this year, StreetSide Edmonton focused on their customers to lessen the impact from these pressures as much as possible, Nicholas said.


“If we can connect with each of our customers on a personal level and focus on what our experience has taught us is important, we will continue to perform well regardless of what is happening in the world.” He added.

Keeping the customer in mind throughout the entire home design process and acting on homebuyer feedback, is important in providing a premium customer experience, said Dave Armstrong, Director, Sales and Marketing, StreetSide Developments Edmonton.

This includes putting processes in place so homebuyers can still choose upgrades and pre-planned options for homes that are almost finished being built.

“This allows the customer to feel like they had a hand in completing and designing their homes regardless of the state of construction,” said Dave Armstrong, Director, Sales and Marketing, StreetSide Developments Edmonton.

“We receive regular feedback that our plans feel very well thought out and designed as if ‘the builder knew what we wanted',” he added. “We use feedback on our plans and options to develop our offering constantly throughout the year.”


StreetSide Edmonton’s project in the community of Uplands at Riverview is an example of how the homebuilder has committed to putting their customer first.

Based on the home style and price point their customers were looking for, they determined the elevations and lot sizes StreetSide would need to give homebuyers what they wanted to develop the final product. From there, StreetSide partnered with Qualico Communities, the community’s developer, to deliver new lot sizes and architecture guidelines that were not being offered anywhere throughout Edmonton.

“What resulted was a customer acquisition rate that was not matched anywhere in the Edmonton area, and with many happy customers,” said Dave.

A new contributor to StreetSide Edmonton’s success this year was serviceQ, Qualico’s shared service and warranty team. The department was established in 2020 to provide possession and warranty services to Qualico homebuilders in the Edmonton region.

“serviceQ has played an important part in helping us achieve this recognition, during a very unique time,” said Nicholas. “We are fortunate to have the support of all of our internal business units in achieving our goals.”
