STREETSIDE DEVELOPMENTS CALGARY BREAKS GROUND ON HIGHLY ANTICIPATED CONDO DEVELOPMENT

Calgary, AB – Excitement is building after StreetSide Developments Calgary officially broke ground on May 3, 2021, on its new three-storey Konekt condo development in Calgary’s iconic Inglewood community.

The event was held as a virtual ceremony with a video of the ground-breaking published on their website so that everyone could share in the celebration of this much-anticipated milestone.

 

A project 15 years in the making, Konekt will be home to 104 new homeowners, with one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, and two-bedroom units available. Prices in Konekt start in the $200,000s. Challenges and complications the team faced throughout the approval process, made the ground-breaking event even more significant.

Each home in Konekt includes a designated parking spot for every resident -  a rare amenity for inner-city developments. In addition to the parking, each home will have modern quartz countertops, luxury vinyl plank flooring in the main living areas and bathrooms, and standard stainless steel appliances.

One of the biggest draws will be the price, says Max Conrad, Marketing Manager, StreetSide Developments Calgary, who noted that Inglewood can sometimes lack affordable ownership options. Konekt will provide a housing option that the area hasn’t yet seen.

“Konekt appeals to those who already live in or aspire to live in Inglewood,” he said. “We’re seeing a lot of young professionals who are currently renting in Inglewood and want to remain in a community they love. We also see current residents who would like to age-in-place when they sell their current homes in the community.”

Inglewood is one of Calgary’s most desirable, inner-city neighbourhoods as well as its oldest community, with plenty of nearby amenities, including shops and restaurants. The project site is ideally located along Inglewood’s Green Pathway System, and is close to the Bow River, the Inglewood Aquatic Centre, and the community’s bustling 9th Avenue District.

The neighbourhood is already home to two other StreetSide Developments Calgary projects – a 100-unit townhome project called Inglewood Grove, and a 148-unit condominium project called Pearce Gardens, which is directly adjacent to Konekt.

“We have a long development history with Inglewood and an appreciation for the community,” said Richard Daley, Vice-President, StreetSide Developments Calgary. “When selecting a name for this project, we drew on the impressive connections available at this location. The name ‘Konekt’ was inspired by Inglewood’s ideal location and the ability for the community and our project to connect with its surroundings, its people, its history, and its really cool and sought-after vibe.”

Konekt has already received accolades, as StreetSide Developments Calgary recently earned two 2020 BILD Calgary Region Awards for floorplans (Best New Multi-Family Home Design 700-899 SqFt and Best Multi-Family Home Design up to 699 Square Feet).

“The team was extremely happy to win these awards during such a competitive year,” said Max. “These awards help to show how StreetSide Developments is continuing to push the envelope when it comes to multi-family homebuilding in Calgary.”

StreetSide Developments Calgary began construction on deep utilities in June, which involves servicing the site by utility partners for water and gas, excavation of the parkade will take place in July. Pre-sales for Konekt began late last year and first possessions are expected in early 2023.
