Star Mechanical Edmonton Moves Into New Facility

Edmonton, AB – In November, after much anticipation, Star Mechanical Edmonton proudly opened the doors to its brand new 20,663-sq. ft. building. Qualico Commercial developed the facility, providing a unique opportunity for the builder to collaborate and consult with the tenant during the design and construction of the facility.

“The venture was initiated with Qualico Commercial back in 2018,” said Brian Yaremchuk, Manager, Star Mechanical Edmonton. “Our old building just didn’t accommodate the size of our company anymore. The warehouse was too small, the parking was limited, and we outgrew the space. 

“It is not too often that we have the tenant on board at the initial design stage of the project,” said Anthony Kovacic, Project Manager, Qualico Commercial Edmonton. “We were able to get Star Mechanical’s support and feedback on the overall design of the building and site, including the interior layout and storage yard area. We were also able to coordinate the interior design with the base building design, and we worked together to provide early access for the tenant improvement construction.”

The only downfall to the new building is the inability to celebrate its opening with colleagues, neighbours, partners, and the public due to the ongoing pandemic. However, the Star Mechanical team is planning to host an open house at a later date.

“Now that we are officially moved in, we have already recognized a closer connection amongst everyone within the building,” said Brian. “The synergy between all Star Mechanical teams is in full motion. It is an incredible building, and I would like to thank everyone, including Qualico Corporate, Qualico Commercial, all the trades and suppliers, and the Star Mechanical staff. We now have a space that better meets our needs today, with the potential for expansion tomorrow.”
