Qualico Honoured At the CHBA Awards of Excellence

Jasper, AB – Qualico was the proud winner several times over at the Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA) Awards of Excellence this autumn.

Broadview Homes Calgary won the Single Family $475,000–$525,000 category for the Harlow, and StreetSide Developments Edmonton won in both the Multi-family Townhome Under $350,000 category for the ALTIUS Essex and the Multi-family Luxury Over $500,000 category for the Triumph Ambleside Pearl.

The CHBA Awards of Excellence are presented every fall at the BILD Alberta Fall Conference in Jasper, to those who excel at design and innovation in their category. These prestigious awards recognize the exceptional work and craftsmanship that goes into building homes across 25 categories.

“From single family and multi-family to green home, community development, renovation and safety, the winners showcased the best Alberta has to offer,” says Donna Moore, CEO, BILD Alberta. "The banquet at the awards ceremony was wonderful and anticipation was high at the Qualico team tables."

Broadview Homes’ Harlow model is the result of collaboration between their design, estimating, sales, and construction teams – combining creativity and brainpower to design and build great homes.

“Any time your peers and other industry leaders determine that your home is worthy of recognition like this, it’s an honour to the entire team,” says Meghan Donaldson, Marketing Manager of Broadview Homes. “The Harlow is a completely livable home that feels spacious due to an open concept main floor and lofted ceilings, but immediately upon walking in, details like the stone feature walls and two-way fireplace make an impact. The old-world feel of the stone helped people see they could elevate their living environment quite easily.”

The StreetSide Developments Edmonton team was equally delighted to be recipients of the CHBA Awards of Excellence.

“Winning these awards is very special for us – it really takes a whole team to be recognized at this level,” Vanessa Freeman, Assistant Marketing Manager of StreetSide Developments Edmonton says. “A lot of hands and hearts go into creating our homes, and this success is a reflection of everyone’s hard work and attention to detail. We would not be able to celebrate this success without everyone contributing.”

The floor plans of the Pearl and Essex in particular really stand out: they have been specifically designed based on customer feedback on other models. Freeman explains that, for example, the kitchens in both models not only have “wow” factor, but they are also extremely functional. Other features, such as double door entry, spectacular ceiling details, and an elaborate ensuite in the Essex also contributed to StreetSide Developments Edmonton’s win.

“Winning for the Essex was really a sigh of relief moment for us. We were elated when it finally took home the award it deserved! The Pearl is our third consecutive provincial winner in Ambleside, so we have a great track record with our Triumph bungalows,” adds Freeman.
