Today, single-family and multi-family homebuilding, community and commercial development, and property management are Qualico BC’s areas of operation. Situated in one of Canada’s hottest real estate markets, Qualico is amongst the largest single-family homebuilders and has award-winning projects across all divisions.

A Brief History of the British Columbia Region

Metro Vancouver shows evolution of Qualico

Qualico’s history in Vancouver and the surrounding area is different from the tale of expansion into other Western Canadian cities. When Qualico came to Metro Vancouver in the early 1970s, efforts were focused on building multi-family rental units. By the 1990s, Qualico moved into the single-family home market and began Foxridge Homes, which today is one of the largest residential builders in the area. In the early 2000s, Qualico established operations in commercial and community development and introduced multi-family condo projects under the StreetSide Developments brand.

Caring in the community: Qualico supports area hospitals

For almost 30 years, Qualico has played a major role in shaping the city of Surrey. In 2008, Qualico decided to take on a leadership role in supporting local health care. Qualico became a large private donor to the Surrey Memorial Hospital. Qualico has also become a significant sponsor of the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation, which is bringing a new Emergency Department and MRI suite to Langley.
