StreetSide Developments Starts Heartwood Townhomes in Burke Mountain, Coquitlam
Metro Vancouver, BC – StreetSide Developments BC is embarking on a new townhome project in Coquitlam called Heartwood. Located in Burke Mountain overlooking
the Fraser Valley, Heartwood is directly south of the natural mountain, newly expanded Harper Park and the many hiking trails leading into Pinecone Burke Provincial Park.
The five-phase project consists of 81-units, all 3-storey townhomes ranging from 1,415 sq. ft. to 2,293 sq. ft., with 3- to 4-bedroom and den floorplans respectively. After tree clearing in April and breaking ground in May, StreetSide Developments officially
started construction mid-June with crews working on the foundations.
“The start of civil works at Heartwood is a significant milestone marking the commencement of developing in a new community for us, being Burke Mountain,” said Jonathan Meads, Vice-President, StreetSide Developments BC. “We now join
Foxridge Homes in this area of exceptional promise. It is a great location in high demand with incredible views across the Fraser Valley and out to the Salish Sea – taking this to mind, our architect—Ekistics—has designed beautiful
homes that capture these views.”
The team’s mission at Heartwood is to build a community that seamlessly balances the conveniences of an urban lifestyle with a yearning to explore the natural world.
“Burke Mountain is an exciting residential community that is actively growing,” said Kyle Foot, Development Manager, StreetSide Developments BC. “Being on the mountain, Heartwood will boast beautiful views and remain closely connected
to nature with towering trees and acres of park space nearby.”
StreetSide Developments has built in Coquitlam previously, including their near-completed Port & Mill condos, though Heartwood will be its first completed townhome project in the city and first in the desirable Burke Mountain area. Kyle added that
Heartwood, in combination with another future townhome project at 1295 Rocklin Street, will help establish a strong presence for the StreetSide name within the desirable neighbourhood.
“Our townhomes will feature ample outdoor space and rooftop patios for the tandem units,” said Kyle. “Having the new Burke Mountain Village in the vicinity will be a major draw for people to live in the area as well.”
The City of Coquitlam’s vision for its new Burke Mountain Village community is a bustling and thriving residential, social and commercial hub. When completed, the village will offer 2,000+ residential homes and 120,000 sq. ft. of retail and commercial
space, including a grocery store, large public plaza and greenway within its 39 acres. A major recreation complex and rec centre, 3.6-acre park, plus two more schools in addition to the two already active are also in the works. View the master plan and 3D interactive concept model here.
A detailed construction schedule and phase plan for Heartwood is now in progress and the project’s first block of townhomes, showhomes and a sales centre has an expected completion date of early 2024.
