Edmonton, AB – Sterling Homes Edmonton held its fifth annual golf tournament, bringing together golfers, volunteers, sponsors, trades, suppliers, and staff in support of Hope Mission.

Hope Mission is a non-profit social care agency that provides shelter, meals, outreach, recovery programs, and emergency support for vulnerable community members experiencing homelessness, poverty, addiction, and crisis. This year’s tournament welcomed 212 golfers and raised more than $48,000 for Hope Mission, bringing the event’s five-year fundraising total to more than $134,000.

The tournament has become an important annual event for Sterling Homes, connecting the team, industry partners, and community in support of a shared cause.

“Our support for the Hope Mission is about being a positive community steward, bringing together our staff, trades and suppliers for the common goal of saving lives in our city,” said Sherri Stace, Vice-President, Sterling Homes Edmonton.

The tournament generated an additional $10,500 through activities such as mulligan sales, an Edmonton Oilers draw operated by Hope Mission, team-led fundraising by Johnathon Aiken, Construction Manager, Sterling Homes Edmonton, and on-hole activations hosted by Star Mechanical and Sterling Homes.

A growing partnership with Hope Mission

While Sterling Homes’ golf tournament is now in its fifth year, 2026 marked the second year of its partnership with Hope Mission. The partnership was inspired by Sherri’s son, Ceileb, who passed away in 2025 and had been supported by Hope Mission.

“As announced at our tournament last year, we were raising funds to purchase the first LIFEPAK for the Mission as a memorial to my son Ceileb,” said Sherri. “This allowed me to turn such an immense tragedy into something transformative and impactful.”

Funds raised through last year’s tournament helped purchase Hope Mission’s first LIFEPAK, a lifesaving medical device used in cardiac emergencies. The device was delivered in fall 2025, six months after Ceileb’s passing, and has been in use ever since.

Sterling Homes support has had a meaningful impact on Hope Mission’s ability to provide urgent care to vulnerable community members.

“I am so grateful for the impact of Sterling Homes in the lives of our vulnerable neighbours,” said Kevin Wiebe, Director of Development, Hope Mission. “It is no exaggeration to say that their support has saved lives on hundreds of occasions.”

This year’s fundraising efforts will support the purchase of a second LIFEPAK for Hope Mission. Sterling Homes’ long-term goal is to continue raising funds through the tournament so that every Hope Mission location has access to the lifesaving device.

“It is our hope that we can continue to raise funds at our tournament for as many years as it will take to ensure that every location of Hope Mission has its own LIFEPAK, so that no one has to wait for EMS to arrive to get the lifesaving care they need,” said Sherri.

A partnership that extends beyond fundraising

Beyond the golf tournament, Sterling Homes has continued to support Hope Mission through volunteer efforts. Since 2025, team members have volunteered regularly with the organization.

For Hope Mission, the partnership extends beyond fundraising by bringing together the broader business community around a shared purpose.

“The partnership between Sterling Homes Edmonton and Hope Mission has been critical to saving hundreds of lives and saving countless more people from the grief of loss,” said Kevin.

He explained how the partnership has also inspired members of the business community through the leadership of Sterling Homes and Sherri Stace.

“As we spoke to the various business partners of Sterling Homes on the golf course, one thing was clear: this was no ordinary gift to them either because they saw how impactful this partnership is,” added Kevin.
