Edmonton, AB – Qualico Northern Alberta raised a record $236,000 at its 2026 Links for Life Golf Invitational in support of the Bridge Healing Program at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

The result marks the largest annual contribution since the region began supporting the initiative in 2024, bringing total funding for the program to $588,000 over three years.

Now established as Qualico Northern Alberta’s signature fundraising event, Links for Life brings together employees, trade and industry partners, sponsors, and community supporters to help people experiencing homelessness access housing, health care and support services.

For Brad Armstrong, Regional Vice-President, Qualico Northern Alberta, the event reflects the company’s longstanding commitment to building stronger communities.

“Qualico understands that creating strong communities requires more than building homes. Through our land development, homebuilding, supply chain and service divisions, we see firsthand how housing affects health, stability and dignity,” said Brad. “Supporting Bridge Healing is a natural extension of our commitment to building better communities, and we’re grateful to our industry partners, sponsors and participants whose generosity is helping create better outcomes for people in Edmonton.”

How Bridge Healing creates impact

Bridge Healing supports individuals experiencing homelessness who would otherwise be discharged from hospital without stable housing. Through transitional accommodation and coordinated support, guests gain access to healthcare services, income assistance and pathways to permanent housing.

The program continues to demonstrate meaningful outcomes. An evaluation conducted by Recovery Alberta and Alberta Health Services found a 76 per cent reduction in emergency department visits and a 69 per cent reduction in inpatient hospital stays among participants discharged to stable housing. Approximately 70 per cent of guests successfully transition to the next stage of housing.

Behind those numbers are people whose lives have been changed.

One example is a former participant who described arriving at Bridge Healing feeling hopeless and lacking stable housing. Today, they have a home of their own and are preparing to attend Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) this fall.

“Bridge Healing is meaningfully changing the lives of emergency department patients who are experiencing homelessness,” said Dr. Louis Hugo Francescutti, Emergency Physician at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. “This would not be possible without the generous support of Qualico and their community of supporters.”

Growing impact through partnership

The continued growth of Links for Life reflects strong collaboration across the homebuilding and development industry in Northern Alberta.

Each year, builders, developers, suppliers, consultants, and business partners come together in support of a shared cause, demonstrating how industry partnerships can drive meaningful change beyond the communities they help build.

Links for Life is made possible through the support of valued sponsors and industry partners, with lead support from Jatec, Cranston and Force Civil Solutions. Additional support was provided by NuEdge, K-Jay Electric, DES Engineering, WSP Canada, Select Engineering, Victory Homes, Jayman Built and other partners whose contributions helped make this year’s record result possible.
