Empire Drywall rebrands with expanded services
Edmonton and Calgary, AB – Empire Drywall is now Empire Envelope after undergoing a rebrand that better reflects the business unit’s expanded services and future growth potential.
The homebuilding envelope refers to all the building components that separate the indoors from the outdoors. This includes components of the walls, including insulation, vapor barrier, drywall, paint, roofing, siding, home wrap, windows and doors. These items protect the conditioned interior of the home from moisture and make it as energy efficient as possible.
Rob Heemskerk, Vice-President, Empire Envelope, said the business unit’s continued expansion of service offerings, which started with the Calgary roofing division in April 2024, prompted the team to look at rebranding.
“Since adding the Calgary roofing division, we have also added roofing in Edmonton, siding and home wrap in Calgary, and expanded our painting divisions in both cities,” Rob said. “Our spray foam divisions in Calgary and Edmonton continue to expand with additions to our fleets in both operating cities. All of this allows us to offer our customers a reliable, expert, one-stop-shop of bundled services.”
While the rebrand brings a name change to the company, it was important to keep elements of Empire’s existing visual identity, according to Doug Dalton, Business Relationship Manager, Empire Envelope.
“The main change to the logo was removing the reference to Drywall only as it does not reflect our business at this point,” Doug said. “We wanted to keep the ‘Empire’ word mark the same, with the same colour and font, as it provides consistency to the market and pays homage to the company’s 55+ year history.”
The updated logo will appear on the new website to be launched soon, as well as external communications, and internal the company’s continuous improvement program, which will demonstrate Empire Envelope’s bundled service approach to the market and the value it represents.
Empire Envelope has additional service offerings it will be launching soon, including siding and home wrap in Edmonton, and window and door installs in both Edmonton and Calgary. Worth note, the team is a certified installer of Tyvek Home Wrap products and can provide customers with a full 10-year DuPont certified warranty.
“We’re excited to see that Empire is discovering and executing on new opportunities to expand their scope of work on our homes,” said Nicholas Carels, Vice-President, StreetSide Edmonton.
“We continue to expand our housing market share in an environment where our trade and supply costs and capacity are one of our largest risks; it’s reassuring to have more control over important components of our builds by putting an expanded scope in the hands of a dynamic and capable internal partner with a proven track record,” he added.
Looking to the future, Empire Drywall is open to further service expansion and strives to rapidly bring services to the market when a need is identified.
“We are continually investigating further diversification of revenue, further ways to improve sustainability to support environmental efforts, and even better ways to improve the workflow in our industry,” Rob said.
