Broadview Homes enters Edmonton market

Edmonton, AB – Edmonton homebuyers will have exciting new single-family options in 2025, as Broadview Homes expands into the Edmonton market.

Broadview Homes Edmonton enters Alberta’s capital region as a branch of StreetSide Edmonton, capitalizing on StreetSide’s extensive experience and knowledge of Edmonton’s real estate landscape.

Nicholas Carels, Vice-President of StreetSide Edmonton and Broadview Homes, said Broadview will apply the same principles that have driven StreetSide’s success—achieving nearly 50% market share in Edmonton’s multi-family housing sector—to meet the needs of single-family homebuyers.

“We want to break some of the conventional expectations of single-family homes by allowing our team to do what we do best: create homes with the perfect balance of livability, desirability, and affordability,” said Nicholas.

Nicholas adds that Broadview Homes will aim to fill a gap in the local real estate market, offering something different than what can typically be found in Edmonton.

“We will be building homes with layouts not currently available here, with unexpected finishes and features, unique lot sizes, and different ownership models,” he said.  “We’ll also be targeting certain locations, such as infill, where most large single-family builders in the city do not currently operate.”

Broadview Homes has a solid foundation for future growth, thanks to Qualico’s land position in the Edmonton area, a new land-use bylaw, and the relative affordability of the Edmonton market compared to other large Canadian cities.

“We believe our market has plenty of upside opportunity over the next few years,” said Nicholas. “One of the exciting features of the Edmonton market is the changing housing cycles that require us to be nimble. That was a big reason why we decided to bring the Broadview Homes brand to Edmonton as part of the existing StreetSide team. It allows us to quickly hit the gas, brake, or use the steering wheel as the road ahead of us continues to change.”

The new Edmonton single-family housing business unit will also capitalize on Broadview’s name recognition in other nearby markets, according to Alphonse Pilon, Senior Vice-President, Single-Family Homes, Qualico.

“Broadview Homes has achieved great success in both Winnipeg and Calgary for over 37 years, and we look forward to expanding Broadview Homes brand into Edmonton, where we will offer homebuyers the same level of innovative design, great value and quality,” said Alphonse.

To gain a foothold in Edmonton, Broadview Homes will begin its operations by converting some of StreetSide’s single-family product to the Broadview Homes brand.

Broadview Homes Edmonton will then begin building new homes in the communities of Riverview, Aster and Kinglet, expanding from there by acquiring future land holdings.
