Qualico Communities receives approval for Mason Community in Austin
Austin, TX – Qualico Communities Austin has secured the final approvals needed to proceed with its latest master-planned community of Mason. Construction begins in April with lot deliveries anticipated in November 2025. Mason will add up to 866 single-family homes to the San Marcos area, marking another meticulously designed Qualico community in Central Texas.
Mason will offer 64.7 acres of parkland and open space, four miles of nature trails, and a 5.4-acre expanded lake that will be available for fishing. The 6.4-acre amenity site overlooking the lake will include a fitness centre, resort-style pool, playscape, shade structures, and two pickleball courts.
“We expect homebuyers will value the unique community layout, which ensures 87 percent of homes back onto greenbelts or other non-neighbouring orientations,” said Kevin Fleming, Vice-President, Qualico Communities Austin. “This design will set Mason apart in the San Marcos market and underscores Qualico’s dedication to creating vibrant, well-structured communities.”
Mason will promote a modern, active lifestyle with opportunities for outdoor exploration, including onsite beehives with honey harvesting, resident campsites, playgrounds, and dog parks.
The community will feature a variety of homesites ranging from 40 to 50 ft., with modern farmhouse-style homes spanning 1,300 to 3,500 sq. ft.
Located within the San Marcos Independent School District, the local elementary school is less than one mile away, and the high school is within two miles of the community. Mason offers convenient access to the employment and entertainment hubs of Austin to the north, and San Antonio to the south.
“We’re excited to bring our vision for Mason to life in 2025,” Kevin added. “We appreciate the support from our corporate team in believing in the vision and enabling us to move forward with what will be a significant addition to the San Marcos housing market.”
The community will be built out through six building phases and is expected to be fully completed by 2031.
