Calgary, AB – Qualico Communities Calgary announced that Basecamp Resorts and its partners have broken ground on Everwild Harmony, a Nordic spa and hotel development that will become one of the largest wellness destinations of its kind in Western Canada.

The construction start for the new spa and hotel marks a significant milestone for the Harmony community, bringing a large-scale, lakefront spa experience to support the development of its future Harbour and Village Centre and reinforce its focus on lifestyle-driven amenities.

“The community is not simply breaking ground on a new facility,” said Thilo Kaufmann, Vice-President, Qualico Communities Calgary. “It’s breaking ground on a new gathering place, a new wellness experience, and a new chapter in Harmony’s continued growth.”

Developed by Qualico Communities and Bordeaux Developments, Harmony offers ample recreation and lifestyle amenities including an adventure park, lakeside beach club, and a PGA-quality golf course just 10 minutes west of Calgary in Springbank, AB.

A vision years in the making

The Nordic spa concept has been part of Harmony’s long-term vision since 2018, reflecting the community’s emphasis on wellness, outdoor living, and shared experiences.

After an earlier partnership was paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, Basecamp Resorts stepped in to advance a new spa and hotel concept aligned with the community’s goals.

The project represents a key step forward in bringing the vision of Harmony’s Harbour and Village Centre to life, anchored by a mix of residential, commercial, and experiential amenities.

A lakefront wellness experience takes shape

Planned for a 5.5-acre site along the water’s edge, Everwild Harmony is designed as an immersive wellness destination rooted in the natural surroundings of the community.

The development will feature outdoor thermal pools, floating sauna docks situated on the lake, and a series of lakefront relaxation spaces designed to encourage rest and connection. A 26-room boutique hotel will support overnight stays, while a 225-seat restaurant will provide an additional social hub for residents and visitors alike.

The design emphasizes open space, natural landscaping, and unobstructed views, creating an experience that blends wellness programming with the community’s lakeside environment. The attraction is intended to function year-round, aligning with broader trends toward outdoor, nature-based recreation and wellness.

A new gathering place and regional destination

For Harmony residents, the spa is expected to add a new layer of everyday experience to the community, offering a space for wellness, connection, and social activity close to home.
