Surrey, BC – StreetSide BC is preparing to bring a new townhome community to market in Surrey as pre‑sales approach for Salton, a large‑scale project located in the city’s growing West Clayton neighbourhood.
Planned across a 7.25‑acre site, Salton will include 188 townhomes, offering a mix of two to four bedroom layouts. The project represents a significant long‑term investment for StreetSide and reflects a deliberate approach to community‑building in one of Metro Vancouver’s fastest‑growing areas.

“Salton is a landmark project for StreetSide because it represents a deep, multi‑year commitment to creating a permanent neighbourhood,” said Michelle Bastin, Senior Development Manager, StreetSide BC.
“It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the community take shape through each intentional decision.”
Design rooted in place and everyday living
Salton’s architecture draws inspiration from traditional East Coast saltbox homes, blended with West Coast materials and detailing. Repeating rooflines, welcoming front entries, and soft landscaping create a cohesive streetscape that feels established and vibrant.
Homes are designed for everyday functionality, with open living spaces, 9-ft. ceilings, durable finishes, and construction standards that prioritize long‑term performance. Each home will include roughed‑in electric vehicle charging, supporting future transportation needs.
From a site‑planning perspective, Salton is positioned at the edge of growth in Clayton Heights. While the surrounding area continues to see increased density, the community is bordered to the northwest by an agricultural land reserve, helping preserve a quieter residential character.
Amenities and connections close to home
Amenity space plays a central role in Salton’s design. The surrounding community will include more than 6,500 sq. ft. of outdoor amenities across two distinct areas, featuring a barbeque area, ping pong tables, and casual gathering areas designed to encourage everyday interaction.
Salton will also feature a two‑storey 5,300 sq. ft. indoor amenity building. The lower level will focus on fitness and active use, while the upper level provides opportunities for social gatherings, studying, and creative activities.
Beyond the site itself, Salton is located close to established amenities that support family life. The community sits directly across the street from École Salish Secondary and is a short walk from Regent Road Elementary. Nearby greenspaces, including Hazelgrove and Clayton parks, offer sports fields, playgrounds, and walking paths.
Shopping and services are also close by, with Willowbrook Shopping Centre, Save‑On‑Foods, local cafés, restaurants, and community facilities all within a short drive.
“It’s the perfect location for those who work downtown but want more space for their budget,” said Esther Kim, Sales Manager, StreetSide BC.

Planning for long‑term transit and growth
A defining feature of Salton is its proximity to the future Surrey – Langley SkyTrain extension. The community is located within walking distance of the planned Hillcrest SkyTrain Station, expected to open in 2029.
“Planning for future transit from day one was essential,” said Michelle. “That long‑term connection gives residents access across the Lower Mainland and supports a more sustainable way of living over time.”
Pre‑sales for Salton will begin from a temporary on‑site Discovery Centre, allowing StreetSide to establish an early presence while construction continues. Sales operations are expected to move into the completed amenity building early next year.
“Being on-site helps prospects feel the energy of the location and helps them envision Salton as their future home,” said Esther. “We can’t wait for new homeowners to join Salton and experience a true sense of belonging and community.”
