Sage Creek is a complete community in Southeast Winnipeg, designed with sustainability and environmental integrity in mind.
The vibrant, growing community includes 13 naturalized wetlands, more than nine kilometres of limestone trails, and 82 acres of native prairie tall grasses, wildflowers, shrubs, and trees. The hardy plants provide an ideal habitat for wildlife and help improve the overall water quality in the urban water system.
The Sage Creek Village Centre offers both pedestrian-oriented amenities and highway access. It is surrounded by a multitude of housing types for a variety of lifestyles. The community’s appeal is enhanced with four public art pieces by local artists, David MacNair and Darren Sakwi. Their individual artistry offers a sculptural tribute to the natural environment and history of the land, and can be found in Sage Creek’s traffic circles and the Village Centre.
Kids in the community can attend École Sage Creek School, an English and French Immersion program that opened in 2017. There are also two public daycare centres that house some of Sage Creek’s youngest residents. There are four playgrounds throughout the neighbourhood, as well as a unique and enchanting living playground – including a willow tunnel, limestone stepping-stones and stepping logs – that encourages residents to engage with nature in a playful way.
