A Brief History of the Manitoba & Saskatchewan Region
Qualico leads the way in the Prairies
Qualico began in the Prairies in 1951, filling a need for single-family homes in Winnipeg post-World War II. Qualico is now the premier integrated real estate company in Winnipeg focusing on single-family homebuilding, multi-family homebuilding, community and commercial development, building materials supply and services, and property management. Pioneering construction practices and bringing condominiums to the region, Qualico seeks out new methods and opportunities to better meet the needs of customers while leading the way for local industry.
Winnipeg is the regional office for Qualico’s Manitoba & Saskatchewan Region. In 2011, Qualico began operations in Regina, focusing on single-family homes and building materials supply and service. This move was closely followed by expansion into Saskatoon in 2013, with another award-winning single-family homebuilder in Saskatchewan.

Building with intent: Qualico supports Habitat for Humanity Manitoba
Habitat for Humanity is a national non-profit organization that helps build and rehabilitate safe, decent, and affordable homes, with a model of affordable homeownership that bridges a gap for low-income working families.
Qualico has a long-standing partnership with Habitat for Humanity Manitoba, offering annual sponsorship for the premier fundraising event, Ride Around The Lake. Qualico also supports Habitat’s Women Build project, including the Women of Influence speaker series. In 2018-2019, Qualico was a partner with Habitat on its first-ever, net-zero build in Manitoba.

Star Building Materials Holds CancerCare MB Fundraiser in Honour of Customer's Granddaughter
Winnipeg, MB – Brent Delmage of Delmage Construction has been a customer and supporter of Star Building Materials Winnipeg for 30 years, and has developed close relationships with many Star Building Materials employees during that time.
He would frequently bring his young granddaughter, Sophie, along on trips to pick up materials for his next job, and the two made quite an impression on the Star Building Materials’ team.
“Brent truly is one of the most honest, genuine, and caring people you could meet, plus he’s an amazing carpenter,” said Chris Osborne, Branch Manager at Star Building Materials Winnipeg. “And Sophie is the most innocent, cutest little girl you’ve ever seen.”
In April 2017, at just three years old, Sophie was diagnosed with leukemia, and Brent put his business and personal life on hold to dedicate his time to supporting the family in whatever way he could. On June 20, 2019, Sophie was officially in remission and her family celebrated the end of a difficult battle.
In honour of Sophie, the Star Building Materials social committee set up a barbeque fundraiser on June 14 for CancerCare Manitoba that turned out to be quite a success. Thanks to the generous donations of those who attended, Star Building Materials collected $2,327.95. Qualico matched those donations, and with additional funds collected through other social committee initiatives, the total raised for CancerCare was $5,575.70.

Brent and Sophie got the opportunity to present the cheque to CancerCare on November 7.
Thank you to everyone who participated and donated to the BBQ fundraiser and other social committee events for this great cause!
