DesignQ Winnipeg’s Kitchen Displays Get a Makeover
Winnipeg, MB – Things are wrapping up this week for a large renovation project at DesignQ Winnipeg, where full kitchen renovations have been happening since May 2021.
Meaghan Braun, Manager, DesignQ Winnipeg, said the last kitchen revamp the design centre had been back in 2014, so an update was due.
“Times are changing and so are the trends,” she said. “And keeping up with the trends is important to us. We love when we are able to provide advice to new home purchasers. We can give them the finishes they would find in the newest design magazine and help them build their dream home.”
The newest kitchen display at the design centre features some of the Foxridge selections, such as an on-trend mix of London MDF Roycroft and Nevada Oak English Tea cabinets. The centre is now displaying some new glass cabinet options, as well as some oak floating shelves.
The new display shows Silestone Calacatta Gold quartz countertops and a backsplash with a mix of quartz and a stylish 24 x 24 Ceratec Flodsten tile that gives a minimalist natural stone look. The Foxridge chimney hood fan, and standard interior door and door hardware are also featured.
The new display’s backdrop is a clean Dulux Delicate White paint, and it’s all finished off with a Kentwood Brushed North American Maple engineered hardwood floor.
Floors in the kitchen renovations were supplied by Kentwood Flooring and The Floor Show, and cabinets were supplied by Superior Kitchens. Keystone Granite supplied and installed the quartz, and the backsplash tile was supplied by Ceratec and installed by The Floor Show.
All of the DesignQ Winnipeg designers had an opportunity to provide input on the new kitchen design, which Meaghan said is important to the team.
“It’s always fun to see the finished product of the vision you have in your head,” she said. “I think it means the world to all of us.”
Along with the nearly finished kitchen display updates, the design centre has seen some updates to a couple of other areas. The workstation quartz countertops were replaced with four different white marble-looking quartz options, and the product islands were updated to showcase more black and bold quartz options.
Meaghan said the team is now starting to remodel the exterior selections space.
“We want to make it more functional for both the designers and the new home buyers,” she said. “We plan to make more samples visible and just display them better so we can get the most out of everything.”
And the team doesn’t plan to stop there. After that project is complete, they will likely tackle a carpet upgrade throughout the design centre.
“I’m not sure the DesignQ remodel will ever be complete,” Meaghan said. “By the time we are done, we will likely just start over again. Trends come and go nonstop. If we aren’t changing with them, we will never keep up.”
