Qualico Takes Home A Gold Quill From International Association Of Business Communicators Award Gala

Winnipeg, MB – Qualico Communications Services took home a Gold Quill Award of Excellence for Qualico’s 65^th Celebrations in the Special Events category from the international Conference in Montreal on June 5, 2018.  Colleen Holloway, Manager, Communications Services and Mark Spearing, Vice President, Corporate Support Services were on hand to collect the hardware at the Excellence Gala hosted at the Palais de congrès in Montreal.

“It is very exciting to see all the hard work from so many Qualico employees who were directly involved in the Qualico 65 campaign recognized on the global stage. This project not only reflected the pride employees have for Qualico’s past, but also the energy and passion employees have for the future,” said Mark.

Riding on the high from winning two Silver Leaf awards from the International Association of Business Communicators Canada in the fall, Colleen decided to submit the 65^th celebration work plans for review at the international level.

The Gold Quill Awards program recognizes business communication excellence globally, and is acknowledged as one of the most prestigious awards programs in the industry. Each entry is evaluated against IABC’s standard of excellence by a panel of two judges. The field was very competitive this year, with almost 700 entries reviewed by more than 250 evaluators. There were 94 Excellence Awards and 164 Merit Awards from 13 countries. The feedback from this year’s evaluators indicated that the standard of work in this year’s awards was some of the best seen in recent years.

For those new to the organization, the 65th celebrations spanned the full year and included parties in each of the major cities, a museum dedicated to all-things from 1951, regular specialized content on Qualico's intranet (such as Throwback Thursdays and the Then and Now sections), corporate giving initiatives like Acts of Kindness, retro 65^th branded merchandise and more.
