Harmony Named Calgary’s Best Community a Fourth Time

Harmony Community Logo

Calgary, AB - For the fourth time, and the second consecutive year, the unique and vibrant community of Harmony has been named the region’s best by BILD Calgary. Located just west of the city along Highway 1, the community has been developed through a partnership between Qualico Communities and Bordeaux Developments.

Harmony was designed to defy the conventions of traditional residential communities. Through unparalleled planning, research, and development, the master-planned community has established its distinction within the industry, commanding a reputation for being one of the Calgary areas best communities. But that doesn’t mean the work in Harmony is finished; there is still so much more to come.

Its diverse home designs creates inclusion for many types of buyers. Two townhome projects on-site offer both condo-style living and affordable freehold options, providing first-time buyers and downsizers choice in the style of property that fits their needs.

The Poplar Collection’s laned homes offer family-sized character on 38’ to 50’ lots with stunning curb appeal and the opportunity to build an above-garage suite. The Collection also offers front-drive single family homes with traditional new-home styles ranging from 2,000 to 2,600 square feet. This collection has been selling consistently due to its competitive price point and beautiful floor plans.

Bungalow villas, estate homes, and lakefront homes also offer rich architectural character and a comfortable place to call home for those looking for space and elegance.

But it’s not just the wide range of distinctive home styles that make this an award-winning community. Harmony is ultimately designed and planned to evolve into its own town over time, so the infrastructure, amenities, and Owners Association have all been established to support over 10,000 residents at completion.

“The goal for Harmony was to create a unique project unlike any other that Qualico has worked on before,” says Emily Smith, Manager, Marketing & Customer Care, Qualico Communities Calgary. “The area has developed into a thriving community thanks to the abundance in housing options as well as its lifestyle-oriented features.”

With two lakes that will be 140 acres in size, Harmony offers lake living with a Rocky Mountain view. An excellent opportunity for swimming, fishing and non-motorized boating, the community will soon offer a world-class spa as well.

Groupe Nordik, a Scandinavian-style spa offering a multisensory experience surrounded by nature, will be building its first spa in Alberta right off the lake in Harmony. The project was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, plans to break ground are now anticipated in 2022. This spa offers a multisensory experience surrounded by nature.

Qualico will also develop other attractive amenities to further enhance the living experience within Harmony. Opening shortly is the new building at the South Beach. Located at the east entrance, the building will include change rooms, washrooms, outdoor showers, guest entry kiosk, bike racks, as well as office space for the Owners Association.

Skate Park

The first phase of the Adventure Park opened in December 2020, with new features continuing to open in the spring and summer of 2021. Features include a skating ribbon, toboggan hill, pump track, skate park, climbing wall, beach volleyball court, and an off-leash dog park.

Launchpad is a new social hub on the practice range of Mickelson National Golf Club, and includes a main dining room (Grille Room), small café stop (Market Café), a private member’s lounge, as well as office space. A permanent clubhouse is anticipated to begin construction in summer 2021.

In phase 10, a third community park is underway. The 2.45 acre green space will be located on the north side of Harmony Lake, and will feature vast green space designed for exploring and games, natural elements, a playground and gazebo, and a half basketball court for those who like to shoot hoops.

Qualico’s vision for Harmony is to elevate the living experience within a community through balanced living, giving back via local initiatives and sponsorships, environmental sustainability, art programs, and so much more. The development will continue to evolve over time, with its expected completion within ten to fifteen years.

“We are very honoured to win ‘Community of the Year – Calgary Region’ for the fourth time, especially as it is judged by our peers,” says Smith. “It speaks to the dedication and efforts of the multiple teams working on the project.”
