Explore Your Own Backyard in Edmonton’s Rivers Edge

Edmonton, AB - In Edmonton’s west end, just off of Maskekosihk Trail, Qualico Communities is breaking ground on a brand-new community. Rivers Edge will convert 640 acres of land into a beautiful community, carved around Big Island Provincial Park, and the North Saskatchewan River valley.

Once complete, Rivers Edge will host approximately 4,750 residential homes. Homeowners in the community will enjoy a variety of planned amenities, such as a storm pond with walking trails and green space, a district park, designated school site and adjacent park, and kilometers of walking trails along the riverbank and provincial park area.

Rivers Edge will offer four architectural styles that will offer a distinct urban vibe with a coastal feel and compliment the neighbouring community of The Uplands. Homebuyers can also expect a variety of Home Styles to choose from, including Front Attached Garage, Laned Homes, and Townhomes.

There will be a diverse showcase of eight new home builders in the area. The Showhome parade is expected to break ground in late Fall/Winter 2021, with the Grand Opening in Summer 2022.

The first phases of this new community will include 228 lots. These first phases will be on the northwest side of the community with closest access to Anthony Henday.

A commercial zone is planned for the bordering community of The Uplands at Riverview which will include more shopping and retail options.

The completion of Rivers Edge is estimated to take up to ten years and will add to the growing number of communities being developed in the Riverview area. In 2017, Qualico began development of The Uplands, their first within the Riverview Area Structure Plan.
